Welcome

Founding President Harley E. Salisbury (Binghamton, NY) originally chartered our fraternity chapter at Buffalo Normal School in 1923. This makes Psi Phi Fraternity, Beta Chapter the second oldest fraternity to be chartered on campus. Brother Salisbury was a member of Psi Phi Fraternity, Alpha Chapter in Binghamton, NY.

After going inactive in 1972, our active undergraduate chapter was re-founded by Psi Phi Fraternity on March 28, 2004, and has yet to be officially recognized by Buffalo State College. Click on the Chapter Home link for historical information.

Our alumni chapter of Psi Phi Beta Fraternity, since its re-chartering on June 12, 2002, has been an officially recognized chapter of the Buffalo State College Alumni Association. We have two brother chapters: Gamma (1925) at SUNY College Oswego and Delta (1948) at SUNY College Potsdam.

Our mission statements are to:

Encourage communication between our alumni and Buffalo State College.
Promote volunteer driven community projects and scholarship activities to benefit Buffalo State.
Assist alumni who wish to plan regional events outside of the Buffalo and western NY area.
Conduct periodic functions for alumni to socialize and network. This will encourage Psi Phi and Psi Beta Phi alumni to return to our city and celebrate fraternal bonds.
Support the active undergraduate Psi Phi Beta Fraternity Chapter during its recognition process and beyond.

Homecoming/Parents Weekend - September
Clothing Drive at Asarese Center - December

We hold the following traditional Psi Phi Beta events:

Psi Phi Beta Family Reunion (during Buffalo State College Alumni Weekend) - July.
Jinx Burning Social (during the evening of Homecoming Day) - September
Psi Phi Holiday Party in December.

Psi Phi alumni and actives are invited to participate in any fraternity or community event either as a guest and/or a volunteer. Your support has been and will be gratefully appreciated.
